The Aquarius Singers was formed in 1999 with the aim of producing music to a high standard while giving enjoyment to both the choir and its audiences. Some of the original members are still singing today.
We perform at least three concerts a year, usually raising funds for local churches and charities. We are particularly proud of our association with the Bury St Edmunds Women’s Aid Centre for whom we have raised over £10,000 from the proceeds of our Christmas concert, raffles and the sale of Christmas cards. We also sing at weddings and funerals.
The choir is managed by a committee of elected members who, along with the music professionals and helpers from the choir, ensure that the choir functions.
Our year ends in early July with a sociable, shared lunch usually in the garden of one of the choir members, which gives us all the opportunity to chat with those we may not necessarily get the opportunity to talk to during normal rehearsals.
Our Music Director is Nicholas Sheehan who joined us in February 2022. Jill Garrett is our accomplished accompanist.
We currently have 7 spaces for new members – please contact us if you are interested in joining us.
